Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) - Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton symbolically handed over Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) in Bandungrejosari Village, Sukun District, Malang City, Thursday (23/2). The handover of this assistance was carried out simultaneously in five sub-districts in Malang City, namely Tunjungsekar Village, Pandanwangi Village, Lesanpuro Village, Bandungrejosari Village and Kauman Village.

The data on BPNT recipients in 2017 in the five sub-districts are as follows: Tunjungsekar Sub-district with 1.157 recipients, Pandanwangi Sub-district with 1.230 recipients, Lesanpuro Sub-district with 1.829 recipients, Bandungrejosari Sub-district with 1.573 recipients, and Kauman Sub-district with 649 recipients.
The Mayor of Malang, who is familiarly called Abah Anton, said that providing assistance with a non-cash system is very effective and right on target. "Actually, this non-cash assistance is a substitute for Raskin. The reason why it was replaced with a model voucher, because the President's hope is that the assistance can be monitored and especially the quality of the rice provided is good and appropriate," he explained.
The PKB politician also invited community leaders and RT and RW heads to proactively monitor residents in their surroundings who need it, so that the assistance is truly on target and useful. "To the recipients, I hope this assistance can be utilized well," he appealed.
In addition to providing symbolic assistance, Abah Anton during his visit to the Tunjungsekar Sub-district office also inaugurated the newly renovated sub-district office building and gave prizes to the winners of the RT-ku Go Green competition held by the Tunjungsekar Sub-district.
BNI Malang Raya Region CEO, Yessi Kurnia said that his party is one of the banking parties appointed by the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) to distribute the non-cash assistance.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, BNI Malang distributed aid to as many as six thousand residents receiving the Family Hope Program (PKH) and as many as 18 thousand residents receiving Prosperous Rice (Rastra). The distribution of this aid continues to be carried out in stages.
"BNI together with the State Bank Association continues to make good efforts to distribute this assistance. To facilitate the service, BNI has also prepared several agents, so that the public does not have difficulty in receiving the assistance," explained Yessy.
He added that Bank BNI will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Malang City Government so that this assistance can run smoothly. "So far the implementation of the distribution of assistance has gone well and hopefully this can be maintained," concluded Yessy. (say/yon)
