This is the explanation of the Chief Auditor of State Finance V of the Republic of Indonesia's BPK, Bambang Pamungkas, on the sidelines of his presentation at an open dialogue with the theme 'Strengthening Understanding of Village Fund Management' which was held at the Ijen Suites Hotel, Saturday (4/3).
The event was held by the Indonesian Audit Board (BPK) and officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji. "Village Funds are prioritized to finance development spending and empowerment of village communities," added Bambang.
Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji in his speech said that in reality not all villages are able to fulfill their functions as they should, because there are several factors that hinder the implementation of village government. "One of them is the lack of capital or funds to finance the implementation of government, development, and empowerment of village communities," he explained.
Starting from these problems, the government continues to think about improving the welfare of the country starting from the village by launching the Village Fund for the first time in 2015 in accordance with Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages.
"This fund is expected to be utilized by the village government to finance the implementation of government and the implementation of development to improve the welfare and quality of life of the village community. In addition, the village government is expected to be more independent in managing the government and various natural resources owned, including the management of village finances and assets," he emphasized again.
Sutiaji also believes that the huge role received by the village, of course, is accompanied by great responsibility. Therefore, the village government must be able to apply the principle of accountability in its governance, where all the final activities of the implementation of village government must be accountable to the village community in accordance with the provisions.
On the same occasion, Sutiaji also expressed his gratitude for the selection of Malang City as the venue for the event as well as his welcome to Malang Regent H. Rendra Kresna, Member V of the BPK Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara, and Member of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives Andreas Eddy Susetyo. (say/yon)
