Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The important role of the Al-Quran Education Park (TPQ) to prepare the next generation with noble morals received special attention from the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton. This was seen when the Mayor of Malang, who is familiarly called Abah Anton, laid the first stone of the Baiturahman TPQ, Saturday (11/3).
One of the committee members, Taufik, said that he deliberately built the TPQ to encourage and maximize the process of studying the Koran for children around the Baiturahman Mosque.
"Alhamdulillah, even though the event was small, Abah Anton was willing to attend. This is our motivation to quickly complete the construction of the TPQ," said Taufik, Saturday (11/3).
To build the Baiturahman TPQ, according to Taufik, it requires funds of around Rp 500 million, and currently Rp 100 million has been collected. "So far, the community around the Baiturahman Mosque has been very enthusiastic when doing charity. For that, we are sure that the lack of funds will be resolved quickly," he said.
Meanwhile, Abah Anton revealed that his party always prioritizes education, not only formal education but also non-formal education. The hope is that with a representative educational place, it will increasingly support preparing a superior generation from an early age.
"In the future, competition will be increasingly tight, not only competition with fellow citizens, but also with other nations. For that, a truly quality education is needed to be able to answer the challenges of the times, including through TPQ," said Abah Anton. (cah/yon)
