Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – 'Spurring Infrastructure Development in Order to Increase Accessibility and Competitiveness of the Regional Economy Towards a More Prosperous Malang City Society', that was the theme raised in the 2017 Malang City Development Planning Conference (Musrenbang) held at the Gajahmada Graha Hotel Malang, Thursday (16/3).
The event, which was officially opened by the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Drs. Sutiaji, the Assistant for Government and Social Welfare of East Java Province, Zainal Muhtadien, SH, MM, and the Head of the Planning, Research and Development Agency (Barenlitbang) of Malang City, Drs. Wasto, SH, MH.
The Malang City Musrenbang, which was also held in the framework of compiling the 2018 regional government work plan (RKPD), was attended by all heads of SKPD, sub-section heads for sungram (program preparation_ed) within the Malang City Government, as well as representatives from each sub-district in Malang City.
In his speech, the Mayor of Malang, who is usually called Abah Anton, expressed his hope that togetherness and sincerity will always be present in conducting discussions and formulations. "We realize that development without the role of the community is not the true meaning of development. For that, continuous cooperation is needed between the government, the community and the private sector in building this beloved city of Malang," he explained.
"More importantly, let us unite our steps in one sincere devotion, solely to provide the best for the progress of Malang City. And for the realization of the vision of Malang City as a Dignified City, namely, clean, prosperous, fair, religious-tolerant, prominent, safe, cultured, beautiful and educated," added the friendly man.
The issue of increasing open unemployment rates in Malang City due to the large number of students pursuing higher education in Malang is one of the main issues that is of concern to Abah Anton.
Likewise, the poverty rate in Malang City has decreased from 4,8 percent to 4,6 percent. "So through this musrenbang, there should be synergy between various parties to create a prosperous society," he concluded. (say/yon)
