Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – In order for proper education to be enjoyed by all levels of society, especially for residents in the outskirts, the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) has made various breakthroughs, such as the program to establish libraries in the outermost, remote and remote areas (3T). Thus, it will also help educate the nation's generation in the 3T areas, and equal education can be achieved.

Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP when he was keynote address Public Test of the 2017 Book System Bill held at the Muhammadiyah University of Malang, Wednesday (22/3), said that the existence of libraries in these outlying areas is very important. In addition to being a necessity, it is also to increase the public's interest in reading, especially among students.

"The placement of this library will be adjusted to the conditions of each region. It can be in the village, sub-district or district office. On the other hand, the village government also has the same program, so that later it can be combined or synergized," explained the former UMM Chancellor.

He further said that in the future there will also be a mobile library which will...cover several areas, and the Minister of Education and Culture is ready to help with operational vehicles. At least 170 cars have been prepared to support the program. "We hope that all related parties, especially the local Education Office and local governments, will help to make this program a success," he hoped.

The Book System Bill that is currently being discussed and tested publicly, said Minister Muhadjir, if it is passed, will help strengthen and optimize the regional library program. "Various things related to books, such as procurement, book prices, distribution and others, will be regulated in the bill," he concluded. (say/yon)
