Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ready to Facilitate MSMEs to Penetrate Overseas Markets

Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia through the Directorate of America II, Directorate General of America and Europe will facilitate Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to countries in South America.

Director of America II, Directorate General of America and Europe, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Julang Pujianto, conveyed various things about market opportunities in South America.

This is done to introduce UMKM products and open market opportunities. In addition, this program is also to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and South America in the fields of economy, investment and tourism.

This was conveyed by the Director of America II of the Directorate General of America and Europe of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Julang Pujianto, during a discussion with MSME actors in Malang City, Thursday (23/3). According to him, so far various MSME products from Indonesia have entered several countries in South America, such as Argentina, Colombia, Chile and Peru.

"However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to provide trade information, market opportunities, and product standardization needed in various countries. According to what the Minister of Foreign Affairs said, various countries in South America are one of the regions that have positive prospects for Indonesia's future, especially for MSME products," explained Julang.

As in Suriname, which is known to have the same culture as Indonesia, the bespectacled man said that there are still opportunities to market various craft products and processed foods to the country. "This is an opportunity that must be utilized well, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will certainly support it from various aspects," he added.

On the other hand, Julang said that to strengthen this program, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also collaborate with related ministries, such as the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Tourism. "Likewise with the activity of meeting UMKM actors, stake holders and the regional government is to find out the various regional potentials to be marketed internationally," he explained.

"If later there are obstacles when entering the foreign market, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will conduct a thorough identification, what is the cause and immediately find the best solution. The most important thing now is that these MSME actors maintain the quality and quality of their products so that they can compete in the international market," concluded Julang. (say/yon)
