Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Ngembak Ghni (read: geni_red) and Dharmasanti ceremonies at the Badut Temple located in the western part of Malang City felt special. At this Hindu religious ceremony, the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, who was also present, was appointed as an honorary citizen of the Hindu community of Malang Raya, Wednesday (29/3).

The inauguration of H. Moch. Anton as an honorary citizen was carried out by the Chairman of the Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI) of Malang City, Putu Moda Arsana.
The Mayor of Malang, who is often called Abah Anton, revealed that his actual return schedule from the Umrah pilgrimage was yesterday, Thursday (29/3) night, when he just arrived in Malang. However, he accelerated his return schedule to Malang City so that he could attend the Ngembak Ghni and Dharmasanti events at Badut Temple. "I am very happy, after undergoing the Umrah pilgrimage, today I can be present directly among the Hindu community," said Abah Anton, Wednesday (29/3).
All religious communities in Indonesia must continue to live side by side, respect each other, and together maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). He said that basically all religions in the world teach peace.
On this occasion, Abah Anton also invited all citizens as religious people to participate in preserving the environment. Because the environment is also a part of life so it must continue to be preserved.
Meanwhile, the Head of PHDI Malang City, Putu Moda Arsana confirmed that Abah Anton was given the honor of being a guru wisesa (honorary citizen of Hindus) of Malang Raya. This honor was given because Abah Anton is a regional leader who pays great attention to and respects religious life in Malang. "The Ngembak Ghni event is a follow-up activity after the day before Hindus celebrated Nyepi Day," said Putu.
Putu explained that Nyepi is very meaningful for Hindus, especially for carrying out the savior (self-introspection_ed) on what has been done so far, so that in the future we can move forward better. (cah/yon)
