Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton attended the Ngembak Ghni (read: geni_red) and Dharmasanti events held by Hindus in Malang. He hopes that through this ritual event, it will further increase the sense of brotherhood between Hindus and other religious communities in general.

Every religion, explained the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton, certainly teaches good things to its followers. Therefore, no religion can be called a bad religion. "We must respect each other, so that in living this life we do not encounter significant problems," he said.
Since morning, hundreds or even thousands of Hindus of Malang City have crowded the courtyard of Badut Temple located in the western part of Malang City to participate in the Ngembak Ghni ceremony. The ceremony held yesterday, Wednesday (29/3) is one of a series of celebrations for Nyepi Day Saka Warsa 1939 which is held the day after Nyepi Day.
The Head of Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI) Malang City, Putu Moda Arsana said, Ngembak Ghni is also a sign of the end of the catur brata nyepi. After finding awareness of their identity after the Ngembak Ghni ritual, Hindus will start a new life with a strong mental attitude, full of awareness to serve Sang Hyang Widhi.
With this ceremony, he continued, in addition to increasing the faith of Hindus in the teachings of their religion, it is also to increase and strengthen tolerance for national and state diversity for the sake of the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.
"This is in accordance with the theme carried in the celebration of Nyepi Day this year, so that there is a good relationship between religious communities and mutual tolerance. Lately, Indonesia has received a lot of disturbances and undermining from irresponsible parties. Such as acts of terrorism that can divide unity," he explained.
Such actions, according to Putu Moda, are not only inconsistent with the 1945 Constitution and Pancasila as the foundation of the state, but also inconsistent with the spirit when this country was formed, which consisted of various tribes and religions. "Although this world is dynamic, every human being cannot do as they please, especially those who break the rules. With togetherness and mutual tolerance, this nation will be peaceful and its people prosperous," he concluded. (say/yon)
