Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Board of Directors of the Malang City Branch of the National Anti-Narcotics Movement (Granat) for the 2016-2021 term were officially inaugurated in the Meeting Room of Malang City Hall, Wednesday (5/4). The inauguration was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji and the Chairperson of the East Java DPD Granat Dra. Arie Soeripan, MM.
The elected chairman of DPC Granat Kota Malang, Dito Arief, S.AP, said that becoming chairman is an extraordinary trust and mandate to be able to carry out duties well. Education to the community and the younger generation in particular will continue to be encouraged so that drug abuse can be overcome.
"In the future, we will certainly increase the activities of young people so that they get more education related to drugs. Therefore, we will continue to intensify schools and campuses," explained Dito, Wednesday (5/4).
He added that the inauguration of the Granat Malang City Branch Leadership Council (DPC) was a momentum to re-emphasize the urgency of a joint movement between the government and the community to prevent, overcome and eradicate the vulnerability of drug trafficking and abuse.
The presence of Granat as a social movement is one form of the implementation of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. To implement this, the role and participation of the community is also greatly needed.
The large number of people coming to Malang City, whether they are just visiting, studying, working, or settling down, certainly has the potential for social vulnerabilities, including the vulnerability of drug trafficking. Granat sees that the social vulnerability of drug trafficking must be anticipated, one of which is through regional regulations.
Hopefully, this step preventive (prevention) and repressive (action) local government together with security forces, as well as the community are tactical and strategic steps to overcome the narcotics problem that is truly concerning, has an impact, provides a deterrent effect, is right on the problem and right on target.
