Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City Government received an honorary visit from the Chancellor Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMAMU), the Council of Senior Scholars of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as from the Saudi Arabian Embassy, totaling 30 people.

This visit was received directly by the Mayor of Malang H. Moch. Anton in the Meeting Room of Malang City Hall accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji, Regional Secretary of Malang City Dr. Idrus Ahmad, M.Si, OPD of Malang City, and Forkopimda of Malang City, Tuesday (11/4).
IMAMU Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdullah Aba Al-Khail expressed his happiness at being able to visit Malang City, which was a follow-up to the visit of the King of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia some time ago.
He said that the many universities and schools make Malang City extraordinary and can be called a city of knowledge. "We are ready to invest in Malang City, especially related to the development of science," he said, Tuesday (11/4).
In Malang City, Dr. Sulaiman said that currently he has established cooperation with the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) namely by inaugurating the Saudi Arabia Corner, holding a seminar on tolerance and interaction of Islam in the context of humanity, and will support the establishment of an Islamic religious education or training center in Malang City.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, also welcomed the visit of the group from Saudi Arabia. According to him, this visit has made the relationship between the two regions closer to be able to build mutually beneficial cooperation. Moreover, currently the City of Malang is also preparing to build Islamic Center as a center for religious education.
"Hopefully there will always be a bridge of cooperation between the Malang City Government and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially in the field of education, namely improving its quality," he hoped.
The man who is familiarly called Abah Anton also said that Malang City can be called the Miniature City of the Archipelago, because residents come from various tribes, religions and various regions in Indonesia. This is inseparable from the existence of universities in Malang City which is almost more than 50 universities with the number of students reaching hundreds of thousands of students so that it becomes a very extraordinary potential.
