Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Until now, violence against children, both physically and psychologically, is still quite high. The phenomenon is like an iceberg that is difficult to reveal to the surface, such as residents who do not dare to report or acts of violence against children are still considered a disgrace.

At least those are some of the things conveyed by the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency (LPAI) Seto Mulyadi when attending the inauguration of the Malang Children's Friends Education and Culinary Park in the Sawojajar area, Kedungkandang District, Saturday (22/4). Therefore, the man who is familiarly called Kak Seto appealed to parents to be more selective and smart in educating their children.
He added that with the presence of the National Child Protection Movement and LPAI in each region, it can reduce the occurrence of violence against children. Along with that, the courage of citizens to report also increases, and this must continue to be improved. As conveyed by Kak Seto, sometimes unknowingly in a family still commits violence against children on the grounds of disciplining children.
"Therefore, in educating children, parents must be smarter, so that children feel comfortable and protected. Because basically education is not linear with violence. And as taught by the educational figure Ki Hadjar Dewantara, in educating children must be with love and affection," added the bespectacled man.
He further said, likewise in educational institutions, teachers who have been teaching in less than ideal ways should be stopped immediately. "Teachers must develop a more child-friendly educational path in order to produce the next generation of the nation with character," said Kak Seto.
"In every RT RW, it should be equipped with a task force (satgas) Sahabat Anak, so that parents and adults can act as friends of children. In essence, provide as much space as possible for children to express themselves safely and comfortably so that children can grow and develop well," concluded Kak Seto. (say/yon)
