At the Malang City Expo (MCE) 2017 held in the outer area of the Gajayana Stadium in Malang, D'Sil occupied one of the booths located at the northern end of the exhibition area. D'Sil mingled with various superior products of Malang City in the exhibition opened directly by the Indonesian Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga.
The owner of D'Sil, Lilik Indriyati, said that her business indeed promotes many traditional arts typical of Malang in the works it produces, and most of them promote Malang Mask art.
"We started our business around a year ago with batik. As demand increased, we fulfilled it with various types of batik. handicraft" explained Lilis, Thursday (27/4).
Characteristic handicraft D'Sil's creations are batiks that have stories, such as the Topeng Panji Asmorobangun batik or Ragil Kuning. This is intended so that the products can be accepted by the public even though there is a lot of business competition. "In addition to exhibitions like this, we usually market products directly to buyers or through social media," said Lilis.
Given the complexity of making his work, D'Sil usually asks for a sufficient time limit to be able to fulfill the request. Initially, the customer conveys the desired product model and then D'Sil will make it according to the order.
Lilis said that D'Sil's products are still affordable. The most expensive one costs Rp300.000 while the cheapest one costs Rp20.000. (cah/yon)
