Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, inaugurated the Taubatur Rochman Mosque located in RW 7, Pandanwangi Village, Blimbing District, Malang City, Sunday (21/5). Head of BP2D Malang City, Ir. Ade Herawanto, MT, Head of Blimbing District, Drs. Muarib, M.Si, Head of Pandanwangi Village, Drs. Redy Susanto, and the Mosque Takmir, Mohammad Abidin.
In his speech, the Mayor, who is often called Abah Anton by the residents of Malang City, expressed his pride in the establishment of the Taubatur Rochman Mosque, especially because the mosque was established on the initiative of the local residents.
Abah Anton said that the construction of the mosque was very important, because the function of the mosque today is not only as a place of worship, but has developed into a place of religious education for children.
"Currently, we are more required to carry out human development. It is more difficult to carry out human development than infrastructure development. So I hope that this mosque can play a role in carrying out human development through early religious education," he hoped.
Enlivening the mosque by performing congregational prayers in the mosque must also continue to be carried out. In addition, according to Abah Anton, various religious studies can also be carried out periodically to fill activities in the mosque.
Meanwhile, the mosque caretaker, Mochammad Abidin, said that the construction of this mosque was carried out on the initiative and results of self-help from the surrounding community through jimpitan which is carried out every week. "From 2004 until now, this mosque has spent funds of Rp 2,8 billion. We hope that in the future the existence of this mosque can be felt by the community," he said. (say/yon)
