Present at the first Safari Ramadan were Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji, Head of Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) in the Malang City Government, ranks of the Malang City Police, ranks of the 0833 Malang City Kodim, and leaders of the Malang City PDM.
In his speech, the Mayor of Malang, who is often called Abah Anton, said that the Holy Month of Ramadan is a moment for Muslims to improve themselves, especially in terms of worship and other social activities.
"Alhamdulillah, we are still reunited with the month of Ramadan, and we must take advantage of this opportunity to get closer to Allah SWT," he said.
In addition, Abah Anton expressed his gratitude to Muhammadiyah residents for their contribution so far in keeping Malang City conducive. "Because the condition of the area is very conducive, especially in religious harmony, Malang City received an award," he explained further.
On this occasion, Abah Anton also revealed various development progress of Malang City during the last four years. Economic growth reached 5,62 percent accompanied by a fairly low inflation rate of 2,6 percent, which is an indicator of good development. This, coupled with the Human Development Index (HDI) which managed to reach 86,2 percent, is an example of how development has progressed so far.
Not only that, improving the face of the city through revitalizing parks using funds Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a positive thing for development. "Malang City's achievements are not only recognized nationally, but also internationally," he said.
Abah Anton hopes that the Safari Ramadan to PDM Malang City can be held in the coming years. "I would like to thank PDM Malang City for welcoming the Safari Ramadan of Malang City Government well," he said.
The warm welcome was expressed by the Head of PDM Malang City, Abdul Haris. He expressed his appreciation for the Malang City Government's Safari Ramadan activity. "This Safari Ramadan is the first time to PDM Malang City, and also the opening of Safari Ramadan this year," he continued.
It was also said that the characteristics of a good leader based on Islam are leaders who love the people and are loved by the people, and always maintain good relations.
