Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In order to maintain the stability of prices of basic necessities during the month of Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr, the Economic Development Section of the Malang City Regional Secretariat held a Ramadan Cheap Market for two days, namely June 7-8 in the area outside the Gajayana Stadium in Malang.
The Ramadan Cheap Market was opened directly by the Mayor of Malang yesterday, Wednesday (7/6) accompanied by the Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP Hj. Dewi Farida Suryani, Chairperson of the Malang City Council Wives Association, Head of the Bank Indonesia Malang Representative Office Dudi Herawadi, Head of the Malang OJK, and Heads of OPDs within the Malang City Government.
Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton in his speech expressed his appreciation for the existence of the Ramadan Cheap Market because it can suppress the price of basic necessities in the market which are increasingly soaring ahead of Eid al-Fitr. "This cheap market is very useful so that the stability of basic necessities prices is maintained and to control the inflation rate," said the man who is often called Abah Anton.
The Ramadan Cheap Market which is routinely held every year can also have a positive impact on the economy in Malang City. "Of course we also want the inflation rate to be suppressed," he hoped.
Abah Anton also hopes that the existence of the Ramadan Cheap Market can be utilized well by the community because it is very helpful in the economic sector. "Once again I really appreciate this activity because it is very beneficial for the community," he added.
Meanwhile, the Assistant for Economic Affairs of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, Ir. Budi Herwanto, MT said that during this month of Ramadan, demand for basic necessities is increasing, resulting in soaring prices in the market. "To suppress the soaring prices, we need to hold a Ramadan Cheap Market this year," said Budi Herwanto. (say/yon)
