Surabaya (malangkota.go.id) – Achieving and maintaining achievements requires commitment and hard work. This is what the Malang City Government has just achieved, having received an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) for the sixth time from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) for the 2016 Regional Financial Report.
The award presented by the Head of the BPK Representative Office of East Java Province, Novian Herodwijanto, was received directly by the Mayor of Malang H. Moch. Anton yesterday, Friday (9/6) in the Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of the BPK Representative Office of East Java Province, Jl. Raya Juanda, Gedangan, Sidoarjo, East Java Province.
"This sixth WTP opinion is a mandate given by the BPK to us to continue to provide an accountable regional financial management system and will be our commitment in the future," said Abah Anton, the nickname of the Mayor of Malang.
Abah Anton also admitted that he was impressed by the professional attitude shown by the BPK examiners in carrying out the examination. This professional attitude is an inspiration for his staff to continue to strengthen the supervisory function in managing regional finances.
For this achievement, on behalf of the Malang City Government, Abah Anton thanked all parties including the ranks of the Malang City DPRD, Forkopimda, and all Malang City residents for having synergized well in aligning steps.
2016 is the second year for all local governments in Indonesia in implementing an accrual-based system from the previous cash-based system. The use of this accrual-based system makes transparency in the field of financial reporting even better. (say/yon)
