Joint Operation Targets Entertainment Venues and Hotels

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) together with the Police, Kodim 0833, and Denpom V/3 Brawijaya again held a joint operation (opsgab) on night entertainment venues and hotels, Saturday night (10/6). The previous night, Friday (9/6) this joint team managed to confiscate hundreds of alcoholic drinks from several cafes and gave a stern warning to the managers.

The Opsgab team checked the hotel guest book

This operation is in order to follow up on the Announcement Letter of the Mayor of Malang Number 3 of 2017 concerning Welcoming and Respecting the Holy Month of Ramadan. Thus, for Muslims who are fasting feel safe, comfortable, and solemn.

Of the several entertainment venues and cafes visited this time, it turned out that the intended places complied with the appeal and were not operating. Such as karaoke places and cafes in the Jl. Panglima Sudirman area. The Opsgab team also continued to several hotels to check and ensure that no unmarried couples were staying.

After checking the guest books and hotel rooms at the first two hotels inspected, no couples or guests staying there who were not married couples were found. However, during the next inspection, at one of the hotels on Jl. Serayu, the Opsgab team managed to catch four couples who were not legally married.

After coordinating with the hotel management, those caught in the joint operation were immediately taken to the Malang City Satpol PP Office to be given special guidance, warnings, and to sign a statement not to repeat their actions again.

"If they are caught again in the future, they will be subject to legal sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations," explained the Head of Satpol PP of Malang City Drs. Priyadi, MM when met on the sidelines of data collection of couples caught in the joint operation.

According to him, this is due to negligence on the part of the hotel that did not heed the appeal letter from the Mayor of Malang. "Most hotels and nightlife venues have started to be orderly, but there are still some that violate. We deeply regret this incident," he said.

"After being coached and signing a statement, the caught unmarried couples will be returned to their place of stay, while the hotel management will receive a stern warning. And if they still violate, they will be subject to sanctions. If the violation is serious, it is possible that the operating license of the hotel in question will be revoked," he concluded.
