Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – To help the underprivileged in Malang City to be able to buy basic necessities at affordable prices, PT Taspen (Persero) Malang Branch in collaboration with the Malang City Government held a Cheap Market at the Blimbing District Office, Malang City, Friday (16/6).
Opened directly by the Regional Secretary of Malang City, Dr. Idrus Achmad, M.Si, residents who already had coupons purchased for Rp. 25.000 took turns exchanging them for basic food packages containing ten kilograms of rice, two kilograms of noodles, and two kilograms of sugar.
Head of PT Taspen Malang Branch Office, Totok Sudargo, said that there were 500 basic food packages provided at the 2017 Cheap Basic Food Market in order to welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan.
"Every basic food package that we sell for Rp25.000 is worth Rp150.000 in the market. We do this activity to share happiness in the month of Ramadan with the underprivileged in Malang City," explained Totok, Friday (16/6).
Of the 500 food packages that have been prepared, 200 packages are for underprivileged residents in Malang City, 250 packages for the yellow troops in Blimbing District, 33 packages for the yellow troops of PT Taspen. Meanwhile, 17 packages are used as reserves in anticipation of underprivileged residents who should have received them but were missed.
This activity was mentioned by Totok as an environmental development activity carried out by PT Taspen in collaboration with the Malang City Government. "Don't look at how much value we give, but look at our sincerity to share with others," explained Totok.
Meanwhile, Malang City Regional Secretary Idrus Achmad in his speech gave his appreciation to the Cheap Market activity held by PT Taspen Malang Branch. According to him, this kind of activity greatly helps the underprivileged people in Malang City to be able to get basic necessities at very affordable prices.
"Hopefully what Taspen has done can bring blessings. Taspen will be more successful in the future, more accomplished, so that it can help even more," said Idrus. (cah/yon)
