Sawojajar Wins First Place in East Java Village and Sub-district Competition

Jakarta (malangkota.go.id) – After going through various stages of assessment, starting from the administrative stage to the field review, finally Sawojajar Village, Kedungkandang District, Malang City succeeded in winning first place in the 2017 East Java Provincial Village and Village Competition.

The Mayor of Malang, H Moch Anton, appreciated the achievements of Sawojajar sub-district.

The selection of Sawojajar Village was officially determined by the Governor of East Java H. Soekarwo through the Decree of the Governor of East Java No. 188/338/KPTS/013/2017 concerning the Winners of the Village and Village Competition of East Java Province.

Sawojajar Village under the leadership of JA Village Head Bayu Widjaya successfully defeated Manguharjo Village in Madiun City, Putat Jaya Village in Surabaya City and Jati Village in Probolinggo City. For this achievement, Sawojajar Village successfully brought home a permanent trophy, a certificate of appreciation, and coaching money of 20 million rupiah.

According to the Head of the Government Section of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, Sri Winarni, SH as the coordinator of activities at the Malang City level, the development funds that will be received by Sawojajar Village can be used as funds for the development of facilities and infrastructure in Malang City, especially in the Sawojajar Village area.

"We are very happy and proud of the achievement so that Sawojajar Village is able to make Malang City proud. In addition, our tiredness and hard work to prepare for the competition have paid off with a proud achievement," he said proudly.

Meanwhile, Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton congratulated Sawojajar Village and all its residents. "Without the support of all elements of society and residents of Sawojajar Village, this achievement would be difficult for us to achieve," he said.

"I also hope that in the future Sawojajar Village will also be able to represent East Java at the national level so that the good name of Malang City will be increasingly imprinted on the national stage," added the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton by his residents while attending an event at the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Friday (16/6).
