Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The Village Community Empowerment Institution (LPMK) and TP PKK of Sumbersari Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City distributed aid to 130 poor people in the Sumbersari area.
The distribution of assistance to the poor which was carried out in the hall of the Sumbersari Village Office on Thursday (22/6) was attended directly by the Mayor of Malang H. Moch. Anton.
In his speech, the Mayor of Malang, who is familiarly called Abah Anton, expressed his appreciation for what LPMK and TP PKK Sumbersari have done for taking the initiative to provide assistance to their fellow human beings who are still in need. "On behalf of the City Government (Malang), I would like to thank LPMK Sumbersari for being willing to share," he said.
If all LPMK in 57 sub-districts in Malang City are willing to provide assistance to the poor, he added, then social problems can be resolved. "This step needs to be appreciated and must be imitated by other sub-districts," he explained.
"The collaboration between LPMK and TP PKK in Sumbersari Village is a good example, and can produce something useful for the community. Umi Farida (Hj. Dewi Farida Suryani_ed) as the Chairperson of TP PKK also appreciates PKK in Sumbersari," he explained again.
Meanwhile, Sugeng as the Head of LPMK Sumbersari revealed that the 130 aid recipients were taken from each RT in Sumbersari Village. "There are still many who need to be helped. Hopefully in the future we can increase the number of aid recipients," Sugeng hoped. (say/yon)
