Preparing for National Cooperatives Day Commemoration, Dekopinda Visits the Mayor of Malang

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Indonesian Cooperative Council (Dekopin) of Malang City visited the Mayor of Malang, Friday (7/7). The audience received in the Malang Mayor's Room was in preparation for the National Cooperative Day Commemoration which will be celebrated on July 12. For Malang City, this special agenda is planned to be centered at the Brawijaya Museum.

Present at the audience this time were the Head of the Cooperatives and Micro Business Office of Malang City Dra. Tri Widyani P., M,Si, the Head of Dekopinda Malang City, Herman Suryo Kumolo, along with members of Dekopinda. The series of planned activities for the Commemoration of National Cooperative Day is planned to start on July 11 to August 9, 2017.

On that occasion, Herman said that the National Cooperative Day Commemoration event in Malang City would begin with a thanksgiving night attended by... stakeholder which is engaged in the cooperative sector on July 11 at the Dekopinda Hall, Malang City. This event was held to reaffirm the cooperative spirit for all stakeholder which is in Malang City.

Meanwhile, on August 5-6, 2017, the series of National Cooperative Day events will be enlivened by the Kopsis Jamboree (cadre) which is planned to be attended by all Cooperative Student Cadres at the Junior High School (SMP) or equivalent level throughout Malang City. Other agendas include a healthy walk, social service, cheap bazaar, exhibition, to seminars and discussions on cooperatives.

"If we look at history, in 1994 Malang City was the pioneer of the Cooperative Jamboree which is now held, both at the provincial and national levels," said Herman.

He explained that cooperatives as the mainstay of the Indonesian economy have a very important role in boosting the economy, both at the local and national levels. Therefore, Student Cooperative Cadres are needed as holders of the baton of cooperative cadres now and in the future.

"In the future, we want cooperatives not only for consumptive needs such as buying and selling and saving and borrowing, but we must make cooperatives able to carry out production agendas," he said.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch Anton expressed his strong support for the development of the cooperative world in Malang City. According to him, cooperatives have been instrumental in boosting the economic sector in Malang City. "The Malang City Government strongly supports the growth of the cooperative world in Malang City through various programs that have been launched by the Cooperative and UM Office," he explained.

The mayor, who is familiarly called Abah Anton by the residents of Malang City, said that the development of development in Malang City has shown a very positive graph. This is indicated by economic growth that has reached 5,6 percent and an inflation rate of around two percent. "Therefore, we must encourage cooperatives to grow and develop well," he said.

The same thing was expressed by the Head of the Cooperative and UM Office of Malang City, Dra. Tri Widyani P., M.Si. He said that currently the development of cooperatives has shown a very positive graph. Even several successful cooperatives in Malang City will be used as models for cooperative management so that in the future they can provide benefits to the wider community of Malang City.
