Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji attended the halalbihalal event together with the Karang Werdha Communication Forum of Malang City at the Bakorwil Meeting Building Jl. Ijen Intersection No. 2 Malang, Saturday (22/7).
This lively event was attended by the Chairperson of the Karang Werdha Forum of Malang City, Sulastri, and hundreds of members who are elderly.
In his speech, Sutiaji said that the Malang City Government continues to actively pay attention to the elderly, especially after the regional regulation (Regional Regulation Number 13 of 2015 concerning Elderly Welfare) as its legal umbrella. "This regulation is an effort by the government to pay more attention to the elderly. This is a real form of government concern," he said.
It was also said that the government is working with medical faculties in all universities in Malang City to provide health education to the elderly. "This health education is certainly very important for the elderly, so that when they are in their twilight years they remain in good health," added the bespectacled man.
Sutiaji, who is also the Chairperson of the Malang City Elderly Regional Commission, added that the Karang Werdha Communication Forum has also received training in health checks on the elderly.
"The cadres in the Karang Werdha Communication Forum also have a network with specialist doctors, the goal is for the elderly to be able to get health consultation services," he explained. (say/yon)
