Mayor of Malang Lays First Stone for Construction of HIPPAM Tirto Mulyo Water Facilities

Anton, laid the first stone for the construction of the clean water facility of HIPPAM (Association of Drinking Water Users) Tirto Mulyo located on Jl Pahlawan RT 7 RW 6 Sedudut, Mulyorejo Village, Sukun District, Malang City, Sunday (23/7).

The event, initiated by the HIPPAM Tirto Mulyo Management, was combined with istigasah with the hope that development can run smoothly, bringing benefits to local residents by meeting the need for clean water.

Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton in his speech said that the Malang City Government continues to strive to help its citizens get what they need, including the need for clean water in Mulyorejo Village which has not been optimally met.

"I hope that after HIPPAM is built, the community will also take care of it. Because if it is not maintained, it will quickly be damaged and the community will also suffer losses," said the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton.

Sujono, one of the residents of RT 7 RW 6 Mulyorejo Village expressed his happiness with the start of the construction of HIPPAM. So far, as he said, he still often has difficulty getting clean water, especially during the long dry season.

"The water from our wells doesn't feel clean. We hope that with HIPPAM, it can really be a solution for residents to get good water," he hoped, Sunday (23/7).

RW 6 Mulyorejo Village, said Sujono, consists of seven RTs, and he hopes that all residents in RW 6 can get continuous access to clean water. "Most of the residents of RW 6 work as farmers, factory workers, and also construction workers. Of course, we are very happy if everyone can get a clean water supply," he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DPUPR) of Malang City, Ir. Hadi Santoso, said that the HIPPAM construction process began yesterday after the laying of the first stone by the Mayor of Malang. "The construction of HIPPAM is being carried out by CV Mahameru with a construction period of 180 days," explained Soni, the nickname of Ir. Hadi Santoso.

He explained that this development uses the 2017 Special Allocation Fund (DAK) with the initial target of HIPPAM development being able to serve 100 heads of families, and then gradually it will be increased to reach 200 heads of families. (cah/yon)
