Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Mayor of Malang H. Moch. Anton attended the halalbihalal event together with the management of the Ma'arif NU Educational Institution (LP) of Malang City at the Cendrawasih Arts Building, Monday (24/7).
On that occasion, the Mayor of Malang emphasized the importance of congregational prayers on time as a form of character and mental development of the community, especially Muslims.
"This movement of praying in congregation on time is important for increasing spiritual values as well as mental and character development," said Abah Anton, as the friendly man is familiarly called.
He added that, in addition to performing congregational prayers on time, the appeal to turn off the television at Maghrib time is also an inseparable part of the movement to perform congregational prayers on time.
"Turning off the television at Maghrib and giving children more space to study and recite the Koran is an effort to form their mentality and character from an early age," he said.
Abah Anton also invited all levels of society to continue to work together to make development in all fields in Malang City a success.
The various achievements that have been carved out so far, continued Abah Anton, cannot be separated from the active role of the community who have contributed ideas for the progress of the city.
"Various developments, including the presence of tourist villages, cannot be separated from the role of the community. Therefore, on behalf of the Malang City Government, I continue to invite the community to work together to make the development a success," said Abah Anton. (say/yon)
