Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang and Chair of the Regional Commission (Komda) for the Elderly of Malang City Drs. Sutiaji advised the elderly to maintain their health well in their old age. He conveyed this during the 'Karang Werdha Development in the Framework of the Karang Werdha Achievement Competition' event held at the Sukun District Office Hall, Malang City, Tuesday (25/7).

Sutiaji said there are two ways for the elderly to avoid disease, namely maintaining diet and mindset. "Especially for fathers and mothers, in old age we must be able to maintain our minds, because it is very important for our health," said Sutiaji.
He hopes that the elderly can live healthily and get adequate health facilities through various programs provided by the Karang Werdha Forum.
"On behalf of the Chairperson of the Elderly Regional Committee, I hope that the elderly in Malang City can get quality health services, and we continue to strive for that," he said.
Attention to the elderly continues to be poured out by the Malang City Government. The birth of the Regional Regulation (Perda) for the Elderly is a legal umbrella that allows elderly citizens to receive good and proper health services.
Various programs are also continuously being rolled out as health insurance for the elderly. The latest is a program that is currently being initiated, namely 'Ibu Asuh Lansia'.
The 'Elderly Foster Mother' program, said the Chairperson of the Karang Werdha Forum, Sulastri, is the result of joint thinking between her party and the Chairperson of the Malang City Elderly Commission. "This program, later every ten elderly people will have one foster mother who really cares for the elderly," she explained again.
He said, in addition to the program, optimization of various programs that have been previously planned needs to be improved to be effective and maximized. Such as elderly sports groups and optimization of Integrated Service Posts (Posyandu). "Indeed, in Sukun Village, elderly sports groups and Posyandu must be maximized and need assistance from the government," he said. (say/yon)
