Starfruit (malngkota.go.id) – At the halalbihalal event of the extended family of the NU Blimbing Branch Representative Council (MWC) held at the I'anatut Tholibin Islamic Boarding School on Jl. Simpang Panji Suroso, Malang City, Saturday (29/7), the Mayor of Malang H. Moch. Anton reminded the importance of maintaining and strengthening the morals of children and the young generation who will continue the nation.
"Our nation is a strong nation with strong values of togetherness. However, it can erode if the moral resilience of the younger generation continues to be reduced," said the Mayor of Malang, who is familiarly called Abah Anton, on the sidelines of the event.
He said that the movement of praying in congregation on time and also turning off the television when Maghrib time comes will provide many positive values for the people. "There will flow the values of family, togetherness, friendship and religious values will be embedded as early as possible. This movement will contribute to the realization of the golden generation," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of East Java, Syaifullah Yusuf, mentioned four things that he hopes will be of concern to the nadhliyin, including the institutions of the family, schools, mosques and social media.
"Pay attention to and strengthen our respective family environments, promote schools that are able to reach all communities, make mosques a center for empowering people and cementing national values, and be careful with social media, treat it intelligently so that we are not easily scattered in hostile attitude," said Gus Ipul, as the Deputy Governor of East Java is familiarly known.
The event was closed with the laying of the first stone for the construction of clean water facilities and infrastructure at the I'anatut Tholibin Islamic Boarding School jointly by the Deputy Governor of East Java and the Mayor of Malang. (say/yon)
