NU-Muhammadiyah Malang City Collaborates to Spread Message of Peace

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The togetherness and sense of unity between components of society were reflected in the Halalbihalal event of the Muhammadiyah & Nahdlatul Ulama Extended Family of Malang City which was held at the Graha Cakrawala Building, State University of Malang, Sunday (6/8).

The event which took the theme 'Strengthening Ukhuwah within the Framework of the Republic of Indonesia for the Realization of Islam Rahmatan Lil'Alamin' was attended by the Deputy Governor of East Java Syaifullah Yusuf, Mayor of Malang H. Moch. Anton, Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji, Chairperson of TP PKK Malang City Hj. Dewi Farida Suryani, Rector of Malang State University Prof. Dr. AH Rofi'uddin, M.Pd, Forkopimda ranks, and the extended family of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PDM) and the NU Branch Leadership of Malang City.

Deputy Governor of East Java Syaifullah Yusuf in his speech said that the togetherness shown by PDM Malang City and PCNU Malang City is a strength in maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.

According to him, there are several things that need to be considered together by the components of society, the first is maintaining the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia in terms of security. The rampant fights between villages and between mass organizations (community organizations) should be able to be reduced with togetherness between all components of society

"Therefore, I invite Muhammadiyah and NU to take part in this. Let us show and give a good example to all components of the nation," said the Deputy Governor of East Java who is familiarly called Gus Ipul.

Another thing that needs to be considered is how to give birth to democracy that is in accordance with the values ​​of goodness, so that it can make conditions in Indonesia more peaceful and calm.

"NU and Muhammadiyah also have a big role in realizing a just economy or people's economy. After that, we will work together to realize a happy and prosperous society," added Gus Ipul.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton greatly appreciated the halalbihalal of NU and Muhammadiyah held this time. According to him, this activity is none other than a form of harmony between the community.

The man who is familiarly called Abah Anton said that the success and achievements made by Malang City cannot be separated from the role of the leaders and members of NU and Muhammadiyah.

"This is a real form if NU and Muhammadiyah citizens unite to maintain the Republic of Indonesia. I am sure that the strength of the unity of these two organizations will bring a big impact to the people," said Abah Anton.

"The embryo of togetherness between the two Islamic mass organizations is expected to inspire other cities in Indonesia to emulate the good things done today. This good example must go viral so that it can be a positive message to the community," he continued.

The chairman of PDM Malang City, Abdul Haris, said that the gathering event of the two largest Islamic mass organizations is expected to be able to strengthen the sense of brotherhood, peace and unity among Muslims.

"This is history where for the first time Muhammadiyah and NU residents of Malang City held halalbihalal together. Hopefully this activity can be an example for other regions," said Abdul Harris.

Likewise, the Head of Tanfidziyah PCNU Malang City Dr. KH. Isroqunnajah, M.Ag said that the initiation of this event had long been discussed between the two Islamic mass organizations. The basic principle underlying the birth of this halalbihalal is a sense of togetherness in an effort to maintain the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

"As fellow Indonesians, let us unite and synergize between NU and Muhammadiyah in making the government's program a success," said Isroqunnajah.

He explained that differences of opinion in Islamic jurisprudence and differences of opinion in other fields are expected not to damage the joints of unity and togetherness that have been established, especially among the extended families of NU and Muhammadiyah in Malang City.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Malang State University, Ahmad Roffi'uddin, in his speech said that this halalbihalal event is a very positive thing amidst various problems that can disrupt the brotherhood among Muslims. "Therefore, on behalf of UM, I very much welcome this halal bi halal event," said Ahmad Roffi'uddin. (say/yon)
