Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The Deputy Mayor of Malang attended a national seminar entitled 'Eradicating Corruption from Villages, Creating a Prosperous Society' which was held in the Hasyim Asyari hall of the Islamic University of Malang (Unisma) Malang, Wednesday (30/8).

The event, which was attended by 150 participants, began with the inauguration of the management. Community Movement to Combat Corruption (GMPK) Regional Leadership Council (DPD) Malang Raya by the General Chairperson of GMPK Dr. Bibit Samad Rianto, MM, Ph.D.
Abdul Aziz, M.Pd, the newly elected Chairman of GMPK Malang Raya, in his speech said that the prospective administrators of GMPK Malang Raya have been declared free from corruption and drugs. He said that the prospective members have undergone urine tests by the East Java BNN and the Malang City BNN.
"In addition to producing anti-corruption cadres, it is also anti-drugs. This is our concept in fighting corruption in Malang Raya and outside Malang if possible," explained Abdul Aziz.
Unisma Rector, Prof. Dr. H. Masykuri Bakri, M.Si said that the formation of the GMPK Malang Raya management was a collaboration between the Unisma Faculty of Law and the GMPK Center. This collaboration is in line with the objectives of the corruption study center at Unisma.
"This is a pillar in developing science in the field of law. I hope Unisma can contribute to the management of the DPD GMPK Malang Raya," said Masykuri.
Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji said, to unravel the root of corruption in Indonesia with the state philosophy of Pancasila, namely the principle of Belief in the Almighty God. Understanding religion that is only symbolic, not substantive, will be trapped in corruption.
"In our opinion, I remember the opinion of the late Gus Dur (KH Abdurrahman Wachid_ed), first we must hold a national amnesty because now our law enforcement officers are ensnaring each other. After that, make strong regulations," he explained.
Second, the law must run strong. "Enforce the law sharply up and down, so that social justice is realized for all Indonesian people," concluded Sutiaji. (say/yon)
