
In his speech, Abdul Malik said that the Human Development Index (HDI) is an indicator used to measure one of the important aspects related to the quality of development results.
IPM has three elements, namely health, standard of living or often called economy, and education achieved. In line with this, the Malang City Government makes education a top priority in the development movement.
The Malang City Government has developed types and facilities of education by referring to national education standards in accordance with Law Number 20 of 2003, including by developing various superior programs including accepting new students with online and zoning systems, developing vocational education, inclusive and model schools.
"In addition, the Malang City Government also waives school fees for elementary and junior high school students, and provides free school buses as a form of social responsibility from the private sector. On the other hand, as a City of Education, Malang City has around dozens of universities with around 320 thousand students coming from various regions in Indonesia," said Malik.
Meanwhile, the head of the working visit group, Fanani stated that the purpose of the visit of the Tuban Regency DPRD was to establish friendship and share about IPM. He said that Malang City has its own charm in the world of education and the DPRD is very eager to gain knowledge that can be applied in Tuban Regency later. (say/yon)
