Malang City Wins Two Awards at East Java KIM Week IX 2017

Pandan – The Malang City Government through the Malang City Communication and Information Service won two awards at the 2017th East Java Community Information Group (KIM) Week – 16 at Chandra Wilwatikta Park, Pasuruan Regency, Saturday (9/XNUMX).

The awards received were Third Place for Best Exhibition Stand at Regency/City Level and Second Place for the 2016 Bakorwil Level Communicative Intelligence Competition (LCCK) which was won by KIM Tlogomas.

Head of the East Java Communication and Informatics Office, Ir. Eddy Santoso, MM said that the East Java KIM Week IX – 2017 which has been running for several days has experienced the development of KIM in previous years.

The main theme raised is Revitalization of KIM's Role as a Citizen Journalism Media Towards an Informative Society. This is proven by the growing growth of KIM media, both online media and social media that are able to present alternative information for the community.

"The media is increasingly diverse. Not only written media and photos. But it has also penetrated audio-visual media in vlog format or others," said Eddy Santoso.

The high level of enthusiasm, he continued, was seen from the participants of the ICT workshop, both from the community and from the KIM elements. Almost every day the ICT workshop was held was filled with participants. In addition to the participants, the committee itself did not want to be left behind in strengthening the nuances of information technology at the 2017 KIM Week such as in the implementation of video conferences and video streaming services on the website kominfo.jatimprov.go.id.

"The various presences added with UMKM in the 2017 KIM Week environment increasingly enlivened the implementation of KIM Week this time. The exhibition of information products and displays of the KIM association this time was attended by 38 regencies/cities in East Java, 12 provincial-level OPDs, BUMN, BUMD, Sponsorship occupying hundreds managed by the East Java Communication and Information Service and the Pasuruan Regency Government," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Assistant for Economic and Development of the Regional Secretariat of East Java Province, Dr. Ir. RB Fattah Jasin, MS, representing the Governor of East Java, officially closed the 2017th East Java KIM Week – XNUMX.

In his speech, Fattah Jasin said that KIM East Java is at the forefront of efforts to deliver information supported and facilitated by the government. "KIM is a source of information from remote areas to raise the image of their regions," he said.

"Congratulations to the Communication and Information Service (East Java Province) for successfully holding the 2017th KIM Week - XNUMX. Thank you also to the Regent of Pasuruan for being the host," he continued.

To the East Java Provincial Communication and Information Service, he hopes that the upcoming KIM Week will be prepared more thoroughly. Because this KIM Week is a request from the people of East Java. So that the regional government, the provincial government must play a role in it. (ram/yon)
