One of the goals of this effort is to prevent society from being easily torn apart, divided and undermined by other nations due to limited knowledge and minimal character education.
This was stated by Deputy Mayor Sutiaji when attending the inauguration of the Al-Ikhlas Mosque at SMP PGRI 6 Malang, Jl. Kolonel Sugiono VIII, Friday (29/9). He added that the element of wisdom must be instilled in order to educate and build the character of the nation's successors.
"Years change, times have changed. If in the past students who were less able or made mistakes were immediately beaten, now a special approach and method are needed so that the noble goal of educating to make the nation's children smart does not end in undesirable things," said Sutiaji.
In an effort to educate children, he added, religious teachings have ordered that it be done well and wisely. "There is a verse contained in the Holy Book of the Qur'an that mentions the name of a person, for example Lukmanul Hakim whose name is engraved because of how wise he is in educating children. Educating and building character," he explained.
Sutiaji also advised the students at SMP PGRI 6 Malang to continue to pump up their enthusiasm for learning and achieve achievements at various levels.
The inauguration of the Al-Ikhlas Mosque at SMP PGRI 6 coincided with the momentum of the Islamic New Year 1439 Hijriyah. This event was also enlivened by a healthy walk agenda with the entire school family and the provision of assistance to orphans.
The principal of SMP PGRI 6 Malang, Suhartoni Alfianto, said that the agenda of providing assistance to orphans is routinely carried out with the aim of spreading the seeds of goodness and helping others.
"Since it was founded in 1981, we have maintained the trust of the community who send their children to SMP PGRI 6. Considering that our students come from ordinary socio-economic backgrounds, we always prioritize and prioritize the instillation of character education, especially religious values, so that we can build a fortress of defense in our students from negative things.
