Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – After the success of the 2016 implementation, the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Brawijaya University Malang is again enlivening the 2017 National Dental Health Month (BKGN) with the theme 'Freedom from Cavities'.

In collaboration with Unilever and Brawijaya University Hospital, this activity was held for three days from October 19 to October 21, 2017.
Drg. Diwya Nugrahini Hapsari, Sp.Pros, as the chief executive accompanied by drg. Fredy Mardiyantoro Sp.BM, said that this kind of activity has been routinely carried out for ten years. However, the activity that collaborated with Unilever has only been held for two years.
"This event involved 50 personnel from 20 students of the Dentistry Education Study Program (PSPDG) of the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), as well as 30 doctors from the Indonesian Dentists Association (PDGI)," he explained, Thursday (19/10)
Dwiya added that this social service includes dental check-ups, teeth cleaning, fillings, tooth extractions, and others for free. "We are targeting 1.000 patients or around 350 patients a day who use this service," he added.
The implementation time is from 8.00:16.00 WIB to XNUMX:XNUMX WIB, and patients are expected to come and register directly early because the quota is limited.
In addition to free dental treatment, each patient will receive a free toothbrush and toothpaste, as well as education on proper tooth brushing patterns. What is interesting is when education was given to a number of kindergarten and PAUD children on how to brush their teeth properly.
This is a preventive measure for dental and oral diseases from an early age. At least like caries which often occurs in children's milk teeth so that it can be prevented early.
Before opening the 2017 BKGN event, Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs of Brawijaya University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kusmartono said that later they will establish a Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM) around FKG UB as a requirement for the establishment of RSUB and services to the community. (say/yon)
