Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – 'Happy Muharram with 4.000 Orphans and the Poor', that was the theme of the event held by TPQ Pesantren Darussalam Kebalen, Saturday (21/10). The Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, was present at the event held to commemorate the 2017 National Santri Day.
This event was held as a form of IASS synergy (Sidogiri Santri Alumni Association), HMASS (Student Movement Alumni Santri Sidogiri) and LAZ Sidogiri Malang Branch. In addition, this moment is to honor and commemorate the services of the students and kiai who fought against the colonizers in seizing and maintaining independence.
Abah Anton told the children of Kebalen that since he was in the womb, Abah Anton had been an orphan. "Three keys to success, children who are smart at school, smart at reciting the Koran and are devoted to their parents," he said.
"Education is very important, because it will determine the future of the child. Therefore, learn while it is still possible and there is time. With knowledge and education, it will make someone better," he added.
Abah Anton also advised and invited the residents of Kebalen along with the arrival of the democratic party in the next three months to work together to create a conducive atmosphere and make this democratic party a success and not to abstain from voting (golput).
On this occasion, Abah Anton symbolically handed over assistance to 75 orphans and the poor. The event was then continued with a public religious study by KH Lukman Hakim. (say/yon)
