The activity, which was carried out for three days from Monday (23/10) to Wednesday (25/10) using the 2017 fiscal year Excise and Tobacco Product Revenue Sharing Fund, was officially opened by the Secretary of the Malang City Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises Service, Martha MRL Tobing, SH, MM.

Martha said that the food processing training activity this time was attended by 60 participants while the glass painting training was attended by 50 participants. "Because this activity uses excise funds, all participants in this activity are factory workers who are still active from nine cigarette factories in Malang City," explained Martha.

It was also explained that the purpose of implementing this activity is to produce new entrepreneurs who can provide new skills. "Later, if they are laid off, they already have new skills that can be used as capital to open their own businesses," added Martha.

“Chosen” glass painting and food processing because these activities are not complicated to do, and both activities are still very popular among workers," he said.

"In the future, the Malang City Cooperative and Micro Business Service will carry out follow-up activities for them to obtain certification and provide further knowledge related to their respective business fields. We also want Micro Businesses in Malang City to increase through the UKM Naik Kelas program," Martha hoped.

UKM Naik Kelas is a program to improve and advance the quality of UKM in Malang City so that they can market their products to the national level or even internationally. (say/yon)
