Malang City Social Service Provides Training in Various Tofu Processing for PMKS

Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – In order to provide guidance for Social Welfare Problem Sufferers (PMKS), the Malang City Social Service (Dinsos) held a Skills Training for Various Tofu Processing in the Hall of the Malang City Social Service Office, Monday (23/10).

The training participants looked enthusiastic in following the training.

The training, which was held for six consecutive days, involved 25 people who had been selected beforehand. Resource persons and trainers who were competent in their fields were also invited to provide training to the participants.

Head of the Malang City Social Service Dra. Sri Wahyuningtyas, M.Si said that this training is an effort by her party to help PMKS to be independent in the economic sector.

"This is part of the Social Service program to help PMKS become... entrepreneur" said Yuyun, as the Head of the Malang City Social Service is familiarly called.

He explained that the selection of tofu food as training material was not simply appointed but rather from the results of an observation process carried out by the Social Service. The research was carried out by involving a team and looking at the needs in the community, in addition to the ability to process food ingredients.

In addition to receiving training, participants also received assistance in the form of food processing equipment which can later be used for the production process.

In relation to this, the woman who once served as Head of the Malang City Culture and Tourism Office emphasized that the tool was assistance from the government that had to be optimized and could not be transferred.

Periodically, the team from the Malang City Social Service will conduct checks, and when the device has been transferred, sanctions will be given to the recipient. "I hope that the training participants can use the device properly. If they are found to have transferred or sold it, the Social Service will give sanctions," he explained.

Meanwhile, one of the speakers, Novi, said that processed tofu made from soybean raw materials can be used for other products. On this occasion, Novi revealed that there are at least three products that can be produced from soybean processing, namely tofu, milk and donuts or abbreviated as Tasudo.

"Tasudo is an opportunity for culinary business from soybean processing. Based on research, almost 90 percent of people consume tofu every day," said Novi.

He also explained that to create culinary products that can be known to the public, various good and accurate marketing strategies are needed. Moreover, Novi said, in the digital era like today, it should be an opportunity to introduce products to a wider audience.

“Use a good network for marketing. And don't forget, the product must stick with you. For example, there is something called Bakso Cak Man, it is a form of strategy where when the name Cak Man is mentioned, people will remember bakso. That is one way in marketing,” he explained further.

In addition to receiving material, participants were also given practical material on how to process tofu with various creations. (say/yon)
