Malang (malangkota.go.id) – Commander of the 2nd Infantry Division/Kostrad Major General Agus Suhardi welcomed the arrival of the Ton Tangkas contingent of the 2nd Division/Kostrad upon their arrival at Malang's Kota Baru Station, Thursday (16/11).
The welcoming of the Ton Tangkas Divif 2 Kostrad contingent this time was rather special. Because, they were paraded like a champion with a convoy around Malang City led directly by Pangdivif 2/Kostrad riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle along with dozens of other moge (big bike) riders.
Due to the success of his soldiers, the Commander of Division 2/Kostrad wanted the welcoming of the victory trophy to be a form of pride for Malang, because this achievement was not only achieved through the efforts and hard work of the soldiers of Division 2/Kostrad, but also thanks to the prayers and support of the people of Malang.
The contingent consisting of 111 people, consisting of 26 participants and 85 supporters and trainers, succeeded in achieving the overall champion position in the Indonesian Army Agile Platoon Competition Period II, 2017.
The competition, which was held at Pusdikif, Cipatat, West Bandung Regency, was held from November 3-14 and was attended by 17 contingents from all Indonesian Army units, consisting of 15 Kodams and 2 units from the Kostrad Infantry Division.
Divif 2/Kostrad represented by Yonif Para Raider 502 Kostrad was declared the Overall Champion after collecting the most points from 8 contested competition materials. The competitions were Physical Fitness (Garjas), Military Swimming (Renmil), Pistol Shooting, Land Navigation (Navrat), Cross-Terrain, How To Find Fighter (HTF), Rifle Shooting and Obstacle Course (HR).
Divif 2/Kostrad is firmly in first place with a total score of 158 and outperforming 16 other contingents. They performed dominantly by winning four gold medals from Garjas, Renmil, Limed and HR materials, as well as one silver from Rifle Shooting and one bronze from Navrat material.
Pangdivif 2/Kostrad greatly appreciates and gives the highest appreciation for the achievements made by his soldiers. "With this achievement, Divif 2/Kostrad has become a Unit that deserves to be respected among all TNI AD Units. Therefore, let us maintain and make it a motivator in every implementation of duties," he invited.
In addition, the Pangdiv also advised all his soldiers that success like this can be used as a means of self-awareness to achieve wisdom and realize the virtues and nobility of life as a soldier.
"Because success in achieving and obtaining any achievement cannot be separated from the support and cooperation built with superiors, fellow colleagues and all members of Divif 2/Kostrad," he added.
He added that this achievement is also proof of the success of unit development for soldiers. "Maintaining achievement is much harder than achieving it. Therefore, let us maintain and defend this shared pride as best we can," concluded Maj. Gen. Agus Suhardi. (say/yon)
