Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – 171 members of the Voting Committee (PPS) of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Malang City were officially inaugurated at the Balai Kartini Building, Jalan Tangkuban Perahu Malang, Wednesday (22/11).
The inauguration ceremony was attended directly by the Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji, Chairman of the Malang City DPRD, Abdul Hakim, Chairman of the Malang City KPU Zainuddin, and the ranks of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
In his speech, Deputy Mayor Sutiaji emphasized to the newly inaugurated PPS members to work well and be based on a sense of sincerity in efforts to make the democratic party a success, namely the Simultaneous Regional Elections for the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java, the Election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Malang in 2018 and the Legislative Election and Presidential Election in 2019.
"Work sincerely and with honesty, because PPS members are representatives of the public's trust," said Sutiaji.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City KPU, Zainuddin, said that the inauguration of the PPS marked that the preparations for the East Java Gubernatorial Election, Malang City Mayoral Election, Legislative Election and Presidential Election had been carried out. "We hope that the PPS who are inaugurated are those who have strong integrity and are not easily provoked," he hoped.
He explained that the recruitment pattern for PPS members this time was different from the previous year, because the Malang City KPU was currently holding written tests and interviews.
"The KPU received proposals from six people from proposals at the sub-district level. However, only three people were inaugurated by the KPU, this is what is different," said Zainudin. (say/yon)
