Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – In order to free educational institutions from the practice of extortion, the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP, admitted that he had formed a clean sweep team (saber) to eradicate extortion in the world of education.
According to him, the saber team that he formed has collaborated and worked together with the saber pungli team under the auspices of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polhukam) of the Republic of Indonesia.
This was conveyed by Minister Muihadjir when inaugurating the new building and swimming pool of SD Islam Mohammad Hatta, Malang City, Friday (1/12). He said that his party had coordinated directly with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Wiranto, so that the resolution of the extortion problem in the world of education could be worked on together.
"This education saber team has also been present at the district and city levels, so that if there are indications of extortion, they can be immediately handled and clarified. The team will target levies that are suspected of being illegal, and not for the benefit of school progress. Levies that are suspected of going into the pockets of certain individuals in an educational institution," he explained.
The former Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang added that the Saber team would not target levies that were voluntary and still within reasonable limits, as well as for the development of educational institutions.
"Therefore, the management of the institution does not need to be afraid, and Permendikbud number 75 of 2016 concerning the School Committee must be understood well," he appealed.
"Meanwhile, the one who has the right to make the withdrawal is the School Committee, and no other party is allowed. Likewise for private schools. If there is and or receives assistance from the government, it must go through the foundation that oversees it, and cannot go directly to the school," explained Minister Muhadjir. (say/yon)
