Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Thank You Teacher, Your Services Are Unforgettable. That is an excerpt from a poem read by the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton in between his remarks at the peak event of the 72nd PGRI Anniversary and National Teachers' Day 2017 at the Graha Cakrawala Building, Malang, Monday (11/12).

The poem written and read by the Mayor of Malang, who is familiarly called Abah Anton, immediately invited thunderous applause from all the teachers present.
In his speech, Abah Anton expressed his appreciation for all the dedication of the teachers who have tirelessly educated the nation's children, especially children in Malang City.
"I am here for the teachers in Malang City who have created great people. I attended this activity as a form of gratitude for the services of the teachers, both on behalf of the Malang City Government, the people of Malang City, especially on my own behalf. Because I would not be like I am today without the touch and education of teachers while studying at school," said Abah Anton.
The peak of the 72nd Anniversary of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) of Malang City was marked by a reception as well as a demonstration of the potential and creativity of the ranks of the PGRI of Malang City from the PGRI branches of Klojen, Sukun, Lowokwaru, Kedungkandang and Blimbing Districts.
This activity was also attended by the General Chairperson of the East Java Province PGRI Drs. Ikhwan Sumadi, MM, the General Chairperson of the Batu City PGRI, and the General Chairperson of the Malang Regency PGRI who were warmly welcomed by the General Chairperson of the Malang City PGRI and Head of the Malang City Education Office Dra. Zubaidah, MM.
"National Teachers' Day and PGRI are commemorated every November 25 as a momentum to remind the spirit of uniting teacher organization groups in the 100 days after the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945. Seeing the history of the birth of PGRI, let us always develop the spirit of nationalism as a foundation to strengthen and solidify unity so that Indonesia will be stronger in the future," said Ikhwan Sumadi in his speech.
Ikhwan Sumadi also said that PGRI will always support government programs, especially in the field of education, but will also always criticize government policies when they do not side with teachers.
Meanwhile, the Head of the event committee Drs. Samsul Ma'arif, MM said that the series of activities to commemorate the 72nd PGRI Anniversary were first started with several activities such as educational seminars, PGRI Anniversary commemoration ceremonies and healthy walks which are a series of activities to strengthen competence in terms of thinking, sports, and currently as a series of emotional processing.
"The series of activities that we are implementing are aimed at increasing teacher motivation in their dedication in the field of education and fostering a sense of unity among fellow PGRI members, especially in Malang City. And as an implementation in order to develop the potential of PGRI members in the field of sports, the activities carried out today will be filled with creative actions from each PGRI branch in Malang City," concluded Samsul Ma'arif.
