The activity, which was held on Thursday (14/12) at the Borobudur Hotel, Central Jakarta, was opened by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, and attended by the Minister of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS) Bambang Brodjonegoro.

On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton was also present accompanied by the Head of the Malang City Planning, Research and Development Agency (Barenlitbang), Erik Setyo Santoso, ST, MT.

Bambang Brodjonegoro said that APLF 2017 provides an opportunity for participants to share knowledge about the role of government openness in creating inclusive development through economic growth, poverty alleviation, effective and efficient public service innovation, and public trust in the government.

"We believe that these consolidated steps involving various stakeholders can sharpen the opportunities to achieve many development targets. On that basis, the Indonesian Government invites representatives of countries in the Asia Pacific to share experiences and knowledge in implementing open government. (open government) in their respective countries," he continued.

The implementation of APLF 2017 also confirms Indonesia's commitment as one of the countries that initiated the birth of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in 2011 to implement open governance.

Indonesia already has Open Government Indonesia (OGI), an initiative that encourages and expands the practice of openness holistically by summarizing the four main pillars of openness, namely transparency, accountability, participation, and innovation.

OGI has succeeded in inspiring and encouraging the birth of various public policy innovations such as the LAPOR! application (People's Online Aspiration and Complaint Service), the Portal Satu Data (http://data.go.id), credible data providers as a source for public policy formulation, and one map initiatives, spatial data for development planning.

Meanwhile, Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton said that Malang City as part of the Republic of Indonesia will always support various programs and policies owned by the central government.

"One form of support is by implementing eGovernment gradually in the Malang City Government environment to encourage the realization of Open Government in Malang City," said the friendly man who is familiarly called Abah Anton. (say/yon)
