Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Community Protection (Linmas) is an integral part of the national security defense system which is formed in every village or sub-district and its members are recruited from the community who have been given military training under the guidance of the Civil Service Police Unit.

By referring to the regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs No. 84 of 2014 concerning the Implementation of Linmas, Satlinmas greatly assists regions in efforts to create synergy in efforts to realize a safe and peaceful society.
Realizing this important role, the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, accompanied by the Head of Satpol PP of Malang City, Drs. Priyadi, MM symbolically handed over the Linmas uniform and its accessories at the Sukun and Kedungkandang District offices, Wednesday (27/12).
"Linmas, which is the spearhead of the apparatus as well as an extension in maintaining security in residential areas, has the authority to assist other security forces, such as the TNI, Police, Satpol PP, and others," said the Mayor of Malang, who is usually called Abah Anton.
Abah Anton also hopes that Satlinmas in Malang City will always coordinate with security elements and related parties in matters of environmental security, public order and security, as well as disaster risk management and other community activities.
"Moreover, in 2018 we will hold Simultaneous Regional Elections. Of course there will be a lot of competitive turmoil that is felt ahead of the election, so it is very necessary for Satlinmas to be prepared as a pioneer and driver of self-defense in the midst of society in anticipating and detecting the possibility of greater turmoil, by quickly and synergistically reporting to the relevant security forces, so that the democratic party runs safely, smoothly and under control," he explained further.
Abah Anton also advised that after receiving the new uniforms, they would be able to motivate Satlinmas members to carry out their duties and functions as well as possible, while also reminding them not to use the uniforms they wear as a means to brag, to act arbitrarily so that it would harm themselves and the community.
"Stay humble by always being firm and disciplined in carrying out your duties in order to create a safe, orderly, peaceful and calm environment, which will eventually lead to a conducive Malang City," he said.
On this occasion, 418 uniforms were handed over in Sukun District and 456 uniforms in Kedungkandang District from a total of 3.100 Linmas officers throughout Malang City. (say/yon)
