In 2017, there were 53 people who entered rehabilitation, while in 2016 there were 74 people. This is thanks to the efforts of the Malang City BNN which collaborates with various parties in an effort to suppress and prevent drug abuse.

In order to suppress drug abuse, BNN Malang City continues to strengthen prevention efforts to create a society that has resilience and immunity to the dangers of narcotics. One concrete form is to include education on the dangers of drugs in the school curriculum.

That is what was conveyed by the Head of the Malang City BNN, AKBP Bambang Sugiharto when press release end of year at the BNN Office in Malang City, Friday (29/12). So far, a number of educational institutions, from elementary schools to universities have been targeted by BNN in order to socialize and prevent drug abuse.

In the future, Bambang continued, various parties such as mass organizations, youth, Islamic boarding school students, youth organizations, educational institutions, community leaders, and religious leaders have been walking hand in hand with the BNN. "This cooperation will be further strengthened in order to suppress victims and drug abuse," he added.

During 2017, Bambang said, BNN managed to uncover a number of cases with various evidence such as marijuana, ecstasy and crystal methamphetamine. The suspects have been processed legally and rehabilitated. In accordance with the order of the Head of the Central BNN, the Head of the Malang City BNN will also not hesitate to shoot dead the dealers and distributors of these illicit goods.

"With various efforts and firm actions from the BNN, it is hoped that it can provide a deterrent effect and can suppress drug abuse, especially among young people, so that in the future there will be born future leaders of the nation who are progressive and dignified," concluded Bambang. (say/yon)
