Starfruit, (malangkota.go.id) – The role of the Field Supervisory Committee (PPL) is very important to ensure the success of the regional head election. A total of 57 PPL for the Malang City regional head election were officially inaugurated at the Grand Cakra Araya Hotel, Malang City, Thursday (18/01/2018).
The Head of the Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) of Malang City, Alim Mustofa revealed that 57 PPL workers throughout Malang City were inaugurated and sworn in. Later, they will be tasked as field supervisors in 57 Sub-districts in Malang City during the implementation of the regional head election (Pilkada) for the governor and deputy governor of East Java and the election of the mayor and deputy mayor of Malang.
"The PPL's task is to supervise all stages of the regional head election, starting today they will be on duty until August 2018," said Alim Mustofa.
PPL's duties include updating data with bang to bang or directly to the homes of voters participating in the regional elections. Coming directly to the homes of Malang City residents will later determine who the eligible voters are who are eligible to vote in the regional elections.
"The PPL's duties include crossing out voters who are not eligible to participate in the election. Because this task is so important, we hope that the PPL officers are truly observant and work wholeheartedly," he said.
Malang Mayor H. Moch Anton confirmed that the task of PPL Panwaslu is very important in the implementation of the regional elections. PPL officers must work according to their functions so that the implementation of the regional elections can take place safely, peacefully and Malang remains conducive.
"We hope that the PPL officers of the Malang City Panwaslu can work professionally, adhere to the applicable regulations and be responsible," said Abah Anton, the nickname of the Mayor of Malang.
Abah Anton added, the democratic process through the Malang City Gubernatorial Election and Pilkada is a mechanism that must be passed to elect the next leader. PPL is part of Panwaslu, so PPL must work as well as possible.
"Let's guard together the voice of the people in the regional elections. We must have an objective attitude in supervising the candidate pairs in the Malang City regional elections," said Abah Anton.
If all elements involved in the regional elections starting from the KPU, Panwaslu and all other existing institutions are based on the applicable rules. Then it will have a positive impact on the implementation of the Malang City regional elections and the success of democracy. (cah/ram)
