Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Advisor to the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Indonesian Chinese Islamic Association (PITI) of Malang Raya who is also the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, admitted that he was proud of the development and progress of PITI so far. Both in terms of preaching, social activities, and contributions to the government, especially the local government.

This was conveyed by the man who is often called Abah Anton after the inauguration of the DPD PITI Malang Raya management for the 2017-2022 period at the Hakka Foundation Building, Jl. Kalimantan 15 Malang City, Sunday (21/1). According to him, PITI's role so far has been quite large, and must be appreciated.
"Actually, it's not just PITI that we are proud of, but also the community that PITI cares about. PITI always appears and contributes to every religious, social, and government program event. In the future, we hope that PITI can synergize and collaborate with various levels of society and across religions," said Abah Anton.
Similar things were also conveyed by the elected Chairman of the PITI Malang Raya DPD, Dr. dr. H. Sugiharta Tandya SpPK. This bespectacled man said that PITI is the same as other Muslims, namely open and peace-loving. "We will go hand in hand with the Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah circles in terms of the welfare of the people," he said.
Various agendas, he said, will continue to be encouraged, especially those related to the community. Such as the construction of pharmacies or healthy homes that will be driven by PITI members. "We will fight and preach together with other Muslims, and will not differentiate from any tribe or descent," explained Sugiharta.
Separately, the Chairman of PITI East Java, Hariyanto Satriyo also invited all Muslims to unite in creating a strong brotherhood. "Islam is a religion that loves peace and tolerance. So even though PITI members are Chinese, this should not be a debate," he said.
"Although PITI can be considered a minority, there is no point in debating it. If it has brought the name of Islam, then all of that must be thrown away. Let us make differences as diversity and unifying the nation, so that religious harmony and interfaith harmony are well maintained," concluded Hariyanto. (say/yon)
