To support this, the Malang City Government through the Cooperatives and Micro Business Service held a Handover of the Cooperative Manager Competency Certificate for Cashier Positions and Nutrition Facts Certificate (Food Processing) at the Telkom Office on Jl A Yani, Malang City, Wednesday (24/1). This is one of the efforts to continue to improve the competitiveness of the cooperative world.
Present at this event were the Mayor of Malang H. Moch. Anton and the Head of the Cooperatives and Micro Business Service of Malang City Dra. Tri Widyani P., M.Si.
In his speech, Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton emphasized to all regional apparatus organizations (OPD) within the Malang City Government to participate in encouraging a healthy cooperative climate.
According to him, this is very important to be able to boost the economy of the people in Malang City so that it can progress and develop further.
"Cooperatives are the pillars of the economy. Healthy cooperatives will greatly help develop the welfare of the people in Malang City," explained the man who is often called Abah Anton, Wednesday (24/1).
The opportunity for cooperatives in Malang City to develop rapidly is wide open, considering that currently the number of native residents of Malang City is approximately 900.000 people, plus around 300.000 urban residents.
Several indicators of Malang City's progress include the Human Development Index (HDI) above the average for cities in East Java, indicating that the level of education and economy have improved. This can certainly be a capital in driving the people's economic sector.
"Human resource development as the current agenda is very important to increase our competitiveness in this era of globalization, especially in the world of cooperatives," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Cooperatives and Micro Business Service of Malang City, Dra. Tri Widyani P., M.Si said that the handover of certificates to cooperative cashiers was a step forward to improve the professionalism of cooperatives.
In the future, it is hoped that people working in cooperatives from the highest to the lowest levels will truly have competence in their respective fields.
"With this certification, we hope that more healthy cooperatives will be established in Malang City so that in the future there will be no more fake cooperatives," said Yani, Tri Widyani's nickname.
This activity was deliberately held at the Telkom Malang Office because Telkom is known to have a good cooperative. Not only relying on savings and loan cooperatives, but the Telkom Cooperative also has business units that have grown rapidly. (cah/yon)
