Malang (malangkota.go.id) – TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto, SIP sees the need for TNI involvement in preventing and overcoming threats and disturbances of terrorism. According to him, this act of terrorism threatens the sovereignty and integrity of the nation, so it is considered necessary for TNI involvement in it.
That was conveyed by the TNI Commander in Chief during his working visit to Malang, Tuesday (30/1). Regarding this, the TNI Commander also sent a letter to the Special Committee on the Terrorism Bill and proposed changing the title of the Bill to the Terrorism Countermeasures Bill and involving the TNI in it.
The strong reason for the TNI Commander to involve the TNI in countering terrorism is because the TNI has the ability to counter terrorist threats. And according to its function, the TNI's task is to carry out prevention, action and recovery.
"Some of the TNI's functions are implemented in its duties, namely in upholding sovereignty, maintaining integrity, and protecting the safety of the nation from various threats and disturbances," said Air Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto.
Therefore, continued the man born in Malang, his party wrote a letter to the Special Committee on the Terrorism Bill to accommodate his request with the note that the definition of terrorists was changed. "According to the TNI's perspective, acts of terrorism threaten the safety of the state or are crimes against the state, so that they automatically threaten the sovereignty of the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia," he added.
The TNI Commander also hopes that what is proposed can be considered or accepted by the special committee of the terrorist bill, so that the bill is expected to accommodate the TNI's ability to carry out its duties and responsibilities in overcoming terrorist threats for the sake of upholding and sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.
