Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Department of Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar) held a Cultural Workshop and Development of Creative Economy Actors at the Atria Hotel, Malang City, Thursday (8/2/2018).
Present on this occasion was the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, who also directly presented the Cultural Award Malang Kucecwara to ten artists from Malang City.
The artists and cultural practitioners who received awards included Jati Kusumo (Culturalist), Lulus (Jaranan artist), Edy Priyono (Keroncong), Yongki Irawan (dance), Sunari (fine arts), Wahyudi (wayang orang), Sapari Anom Carito (puppeteer), Suwarno (pengrawit), Gozali (calligraphy), and Syamsul Subakri (creative arts).
Through this award, it is hoped that the enthusiasm and passion of artists in Malang City will be further stimulated.
In his speech, Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton expressed his great pleasure in being able to gather with all the cultural arts and creative economy actors in Malang City.
"Activities like this are very important to carry out together to align thoughts and perceptions in order to advance and preserve the arts in Malang City," explained the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton, Thursday (8/2).
Arts in Malang City, Abah Anton hopes will continue to develop, both nationally and internationally. And through this activity, various arts issues in Malang City can be identified so that solutions or the best way out can be found.
In line with Abah Anton, one of the participants of the activity, Sinwan, admitted that he was happy with this activity. According to him, through this activity, the aspirations of the artists and creative economy can be channeled.
"There are so many inputs from Malang City artists that if I explain them one by one it will be very long. We hope that the Malang City Government is really serious about paying attention to art in Malang City," Sinwan hoped.
For example, currently Malang City still does not have a representative performing arts building like in Solo, Yogyakarta or Jakarta.
On this occasion there is a proposal that Malang City can hold an event like Malang Tempo Doeloe which can be a place for artists and creative economy actors to show off. (cah/yon)
