Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government received a working visit from Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province, Tuesday (6/3). This working visit was received by the Regional Secretary of Malang City Drs. Wasto, SH, MH in the Meeting Room of Malang City Hall.

The group from Musi Rawas Regency, consisting of the Musi Rawas Regency PKK Team and officials from the Musi Rawas Regency Government, was led by Assistant II for Economics and Development, Syaiful Anwar Ibna.
Regional Secretary of Malang City Drs. Wasto, SH, MH in his speech welcomed the officials of Musi Rawas Regency Government, while also expressing his gratitude for the trust given by making Malang City the destination of the working visit.
"Malang City is the second largest city in East Java with an area of 110,06 square kilometers. Malang City has a population of approximately 905.542 people and immigrants numbering around 300.000 people. Administratively, Malang City is divided into five sub-districts and has 57 urban villages," explained Wasto.
As a narrow city, he continued, and has a dense population, one of the urban problems that is the focus is the waste sector. Since 2011, the Malang City Government has been involved in the Green City Development Program (P2KH) facilitated by the Ministry of Public Works.
"In managing waste, legal certainty, clarity of responsibility and authority of the regional government are needed. This is the basis for the issuance of Regional Regulation No. 10 of 2010 concerning Waste Management in Malang City," he explained again.
From there, he said, a waste bank was formed which was facilitated by the Malang City Government on August 17, 2011 and has been operating since October 1, 2011. "The Malang City Government together with environmental cadres and the community are committed to advancing the waste bank which has the motto 'Borrow Money and Pay for Waste in Installments and Buy Basic Necessities," he said.
The Malang City Government also continues to strive to beautify the face of Malang City. All of this is done in order to create a clean, beautiful, cool, healthy and comfortable environment.
"Malang City received the Adipura Kirana award and the National Best Park Plaque in 2016, in 2017 Malang City again received the Adipura Kencana in the Large City category from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, as well as the Adiwiyata Cup obtained by SMPN 15, SMAN 2 and SMAN 7 Malang," concluded Wasto.
