Surabaya (malangkota.go.id) – Carrying the theme 'Harmony of Sundanese Javanese Culture', the three governors agreed to establish and strengthen cultural synergy. This is marked by launching the names of Jalan Prabu Siliwangi and Jalan Pasundan in the city of Surabaya and Jalan Majapahit in the city of Bandung by the Governor of East Java H. Soekarwo and the Governor of West Java Ahmad Heryawan and witnessed by the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X.

Starting with a beautiful collaboration of East Javanese art with Pasundan art with the title "Angklung Rending Karending", the event held at the Bumi Surabaya Hotel, Jl Basuki Rahmat, Surabaya, Tuesday (6/3) also became a showcase of the richness of Indonesian culture.
Head of the East Java Province Culture and Tourism Office, H. Jarianto, said that the cultural collaboration held brought the spirit of national unity.
"Politics can be dirty, but what can wash it clean is culture," said the Governor of East Java, who is usually called Pakdhe Karwo, starting his cultural oration. According to him, conflicts are often contributed by negative interpretations of historical events.
A good understanding of history will make Indonesia strong. Historical wounds should not be produced for political interests. "Therefore, it is the responsibility of all children of the nation to place historical events as valuable lessons that are strengthened by the cultural capital of this nation," continued Pakdhe Karwo.
Meanwhile, West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan said that the history of Pasundan Bubat carries a psychological burden. "In fact, it was a story from 610 years ago. Why Sundanese people do not want to be called Javanese, among other things, is contributed by the 'wounds' of that history. Therefore, collective emotions must end and we are one Java," explained Kang Aher, as the West Java Governor is familiarly called.
In the current context, according to Kang Aher, the unification of Sundanese and Javanese with a population of 54 percent of the population in Indonesia, then the strength of their togetherness will contribute significantly to the unity of Indonesia amidst diversity.
The same message was also emphasized by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. He said that steps are needed to end the dark history. One of them is symbolized in 2017 in DIY, Pasundan Street was launched which is connected to Majapahit Street in Yogyakarta.
Peru's spirit of culture in the breath of nationality was also conveyed by Acting Mayor of Malang Wahid Wayudi on the sidelines of the event. "Our nation was formed among other things from the power of crystallized culture. So forms of collaboration like this must be able to be developed between Regional Governments," he hoped. (say/yon)
