Thematic Village in Malang City Attracts Interest in Banjarbaru City

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The existence of thematic villages in Malang City which has been widely known has attracted many parties. One of them is a group from Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan who came to Malang City to conduct a comparative study, Monday (19/3).

The comparative study visit of Banjarbaru City was welcomed in the Meeting Room of Malang City Hall

The visit was received by the Regional Secretary of Malang City Drs. Wasto, SH, MH in the Meeting Room of Malang City Hall. The group of guests was followed by the Chairman of the Banjarbaru City DPRD H. AR. Irwansyah, Assistant I for Governance Dr. H. Muhammad Aswan, M.Si along with the RT/RW forum of Banjarbaru City and other invitees.

Assistant I for Governance Dr. H. Muhammad Aswan, M.Si of Banjarbaru City Government expressed his curiosity about the success of Malang City in building thematic villages. Therefore, his party invited all officials in Banjarbaru City to come directly to Malang City.

"From a slum village, it has now become a tourist area. "This is interesting to learn," said Aswan, Monday (19/3).

He added that in Banjarbaru City there is a forum called the RT/RW forum which has been heavily involved in the development of the city.

He hopes that by inviting the RT/RW forum to Malang City, a lot of knowledge will be absorbed to be developed in Banjarbaru City.

"We have heard about Kampung Glintung Go Green, Kampung Warna-Warni, Kampung Keramik, and so on. We want to see directly in Malang City, we can develop our villages," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of Malang City, Drs. Wasto, SH, MM welcomed the visit from Banjarbaru City this time. He said that activities like this could improve relations between the two regions and sharing to advance the city.

"As per the spirit of regional autonomy, ending-is welfare. We are also determined how with regional autonomy the service to the community can be better, and the end result is increased community welfare," explained Wasto.

The population of Malang City is around 895.000 plus immigrants numbering approximately 300.000, Wasto said that Malang City has become a metropolitan city with a population of more than one million.

"It is right that Banjarbaru City conducted a comparative study to Malang City regarding RT/RW and also thematic villages," he added.

Through the ATM method (Observe, Imitate and Modify), Wasto admitted that Malang City can develop faster. Likewise with thematic villages, with good attention from the government and all elements of society, making thematic villages in Malang City can go global. (cah/yon)
